Romney mocked for saying 'hot dog' is his 'favorite meat'

Romney, now running for a Utah Senate seat, made the comment at a dinner organized by his Senate campaign, according to a profile of the candidate by the Washington Examiner.

“My favorite meat is hot dog, by the way. That is my favorite meat,” Romney said. “My second favorite meat is hamburger. And, everyone says, oh, don’t you prefer steak? It’s like, I know steaks are great, but I like hot dog best, and I like hamburger next best.”

Social media users were quick to jump on Romney for the quote, with most mocking Romney for his wealth and joking that the quote was a failed attempt to seem relatable to average voters.
